Boston is an amazing and important city, and it's also one of the least-churched cities in America.
Our desire is to plant a new, thriving expression of Jesus' church in Boston.
Our Story
Steven has always had a heart for New England. After subsequent trips to and through the Boston area, he and Amy were overwhelmed with the lostness and need for churches that preach Jesus. It was clear that the Lord was calling them to Boston with a vision to plant a church.
Fundraising Phase
>> Sep 2017 - Aug 2018
During this phase, we will transition out of our current roles and responsibilities at Immanuel and shift our focus primarily on fundraising. We will also work to sell our house, nail down details in Boston such as where we will be living and the final details of our residency.
residency phase
>> Sep 2018 - Aug 2019
Our first year in Boston, we will acclimate to our new city, make sure that the kids get settled, and begin to experience what life in New England is like. We will be spending a year learning from a Boston church that has planted several other churches. At the end of this year, they would send us to plant a new work in the Boston neighborhood of Dorchester.
planting phase
>> September 2019 - August 2020
At the end of our residency, we will shift our attention toward equipping our Launch Team, continuing to serve the community and share the gospel, and laying the groundwork for a new church. This will begin through starting Community Groups. After we have started 4-5 groups (about 50 people), we will begin weekly worship services.
